Old Lady Taken To Court for Filesharing
I was reading a story the other day about an old lady taken to court for filesharing. A grandmother in Florida was charged with illegally downloading 400 music files. She apparently bought a computer for her granddaughter who is likely the one that downloaded the music files. If she is convicted she will likely have to pay $750 for each and every song. That means the fine could be up to $300,000. I’ll bet she’s sorry she ever bought that computer for her granddaughter. I doubt if she will have a way to pay that fine. I wonder what they will do to her if she doesn’t come up with the cash.
